At any rate, PUPPP normally appears in the third trimester and disappears after childbirth.

One of the best ways to treat rash is to avoid scratching it. Any forms of touching or scratching the rash will increase the chances of exposing your compromised skin to bacteria and other microbes. And, these microbes can cause infection or further irritation down the line.

Ice Pack

Cold therapy has been using to temporarily reduce swelling and pain for many years. Applying an ice pack a few times per day may help to improve your skin condition.

  • Wrap an ice pack in a cloth to protect your skin from frostbite or other injuries.
  • Put the ice over the injured area for 20 to 30 minutes or as long as directed.
  • Remember to check your skin after 30 seconds for color changes or blistering. Remove the ice pack if you notice skin changes or numbness in the area.

Oatmeal Baths

Researchers indicate that oatmeal can reduce itchy and other skin conditions, such as atopic dermatitis or eczema. Therefore, oatmeal baths are a perfect homemade remedy for you to treat a variety of skin conditions, including rashes. Oatmeal contains a group of phenols called avenanthramides, which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. So, they would be useful to reduce PUPPP symptoms and safe to use during pregnancy.

Chamomile

The soothing effect of chamomile is widely used to treat skin conditions. Plus, chamomile extract can be found in many anti-itch creams and lotions. In addition, chamomile benefits your skin a lot because it also includes anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

However, it is important to remember that some people are allergic to chamomile. So, anyone in doubt should talk to a doctor before trying any product that contains chamomile extract. If the itchy becomes unbearable, please consult your doctor about medications or anti-itching creams.
